Headon Forest
History:
Headon Forest is named after Thomas Headon who established a homestead in this densely forested part of Burlington back in the 1840s. When the present day neighbourhood was developed in the 1980s the Headon name paired with the surrounding forest seemed a natural choice for the neighbourhood. The main thoroughfare that runs through this neighbourhood is also known as Headon Forest.
Overview:
Headon Forest is an established neighbourhood with nice size family homes located at the north end of Burlington. You can see the Niagara Escarpment rising up from the north end of the neighbourhood. A Hydro corridor multi use path forms a green band that runs through the middle of the neighbourhood. Notre Dame Roman Catholic Secondary School and M.M. Robinson Secondary School attract alot of families to this neighbourhood. There are number of shopping and recreational amenities located within or just on the border of this neighbourhood including Ireland Park situated at the north end of the neighbourhood and the Burlington Supercentre located off Guelph Line.

There are numerous shopping options nearby including Beacon Hill Plaza and Burlingwood Centre which are both situated off Guelph Line.
Homes:
Headon Forest has a large number of detached family size homes. These homes are mostly brick with frame accents. The front roof gables are prominent and so to are the front attached single or double car garages. The lots are wide with nicely landscaped gardens. There are small boutique enclaves of townhomes situated within this community.
Recreation:
Ireland Park located of Headon Forest Drive has multiple sports fields and baseball diamonds. There is also a community garden. This massive park is bookended by two catholic schools. A hydro corridor multi-use path runs diagonally right through the middle of the neighbourhood. This paved path is ideal for walking, jogging and cycling.
Arts:
The Art Gallery of Burlington is located at 1333 Lakeshore Road in the heart of Burlington’s downtown waterfront. This contemporary gallery is a  multi-faceted centre that is the home base for 7 different artists guilds operating within the City of Burlington. The AGB also provides studio space for local artists, as well as hosting a myriad of exhibitions, lectures and events and running school programs. The AGB is especially known for its ceramic collection.
The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a city landmark and source of civic pride. This landmark centre occupies a high profile position in the downtown core at the corner of Locust and Elgin Streets. The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is comprised of two theatres; the larger Main Theatre has world-class acoustics and an orchestra pit. It is ideal for theatrical and musical performances and seats 718 people. The more intimate Community Theatre is ideal for smaller scale productions. It seats 225 people.
