Bayview Glen
History:
Stonefarm Park situated on Apricot Street encompasses an old hedgerow that once lined a portion of the driveway that led from Steeles Avenue East up to the Stone family farmhouse. The farmhouse was removed when this neighbourhood was developed but the hedgerow is an important reminder of the site’s heritage.
The present day neighbourhood was developed between 1960-1980.
Overview:
Bayview Fairways-Bayview Country Club Estates is a posh neighbourhood located in the City of Markham and sharing its southern boundary with the City of Toronto. This beautiful neighbourhood features meandering curvilinear streets lined with large evergreen trees. The streets are wide  and there are no sidewalks which make for pretty streetscapes. The neighbourhood is very quiet so much so that the most obvious sounds are that of birds happily chirping from the dense tree canopy found throughout the neighbourhood. The main neighbourhood landmarks include the highly regarded Bayview Glen Public School, Bayview Glen Church and the private Bayview Golf and Country Club situated in the picturesque Don River ravine valley.
Lifestyle:
There are a number of small shopping plazas along Steeles Avenue and Bayview Avenue that include supermarkets and small businesses catering to the needs of the local community.
Homes:
Bayview Fairways-Bayview Country Club Estates has extremely large lots. The houses are spaced well apart and setback a fair distance from the street with large green front lawns and multiple car garages. The original housing stock dates from 1960-1980 and consists of Colonial and Tudor revival homes as well as ranch style bungalows and enclaves of townhomes. Many of the first generation houses are being torn down and replaced with massive custom designed infill homes designed to impress with their size and dramatic architectural designs.
