Belfountain
History:
Belfountain like most small Ontario hamlets derives its name from the local post office which opened in 1853. The postmaster at the time was a gentleman by the name of Bush. It was Bush who is credited with coming up with the name Belfountain. Bush himself is remembered as his surname was given to the main street that runs through this community.
