Cobden
History:
The Cobden neighbourhood was created in 2004 by the Town of Milton as part of the Boyne Survey which also included the Bowes, Ford and Walker neighbourhoods. This neighbourhood is named in honour of Dr. James Cobban (slightly different spelling) who emigrated to Milton in 1837 from Aberdeen, Scotland. Milton Streets published by the Milton Historical Society points out that Cobban was the first medical doctor in the area so he obviously held a prominent place within the community.
