It’s been a long hiatus! We’ve missed you and are excited to perform for you in person again. We invite you to rediscover the transcendent power of choral music as we once again lift our voices together — with heart, gratitude and hope for the future. Be transported by the eternal brilliance and power of Beethoven’s music, and inspired by the excitement of Dobrogosz’s contemporary, jazz-influenced interpretation of the Latin mass. Both works will be accompanied by a twelve-piece string orchestra. The Beethoven Mass will feature Carl Steinhauser on organ, and will showcase the vocal talents of ECC’s seven professional section leads as soloists. We will perform the stirring Easter Hymn from the Mascagni opera Cavalleria Rusticana, in heartfelt tribute to our long-time friend and supporter, Father Edward Jackman of the Jackman Foundation, who passed away last year. We are limiting ticket sales to facilitate physical distancing of audience members. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended, both to ensure availability and to reduce congestion and delay on the evening of the concert. Please be assured that the safety and comfort of our audience, artists and staff is our priority. While the government of Ontario has eased pandemic-related restrictions, we have decided to enact the following safety measures: We respectfully ask that all concert attendees be fully vaccinated, but will not be requiring proof of vaccination. All audience members are required to remain masked while indoors. Choristers and instrumentalists will wear masks during the performance, except for the conductor and vocal soloists.
