This is an online event! Register now, workshops start on August 18, 2020!
The Third Eye Virtual Community Festival of Animated Storytelling is an online program for the Parkway Forest Park community in Toronto, that centres on art-making and storytelling activities through the creation of short, DIY (Do-It-Yourself) miniature paper theatre shows. Participants will have a chance to share meaningful stories that are pivotal to their community life, especially as we see how Covid-19 exposes many ongoing inequities in our worlds. Programming will include:
- One-on-one or group workshops for community creators through zoom instruction and phone calls on storyboarding, puppetry, voice-over/sound recording and the art of DIY miniature paper theatre
- Instructional resources and videos for creators
- The program will have an emphasis on materials and technologies found in the home, though Clay and Paper Theatre will also endeavor to safely provide supplies, supports and other materials where possible
- Creation sessions will culminate with each community having their own Third Eye Virtual Community Festival of Animated Storytelling, with a combination of pre-recorded and live performances of community created work, hosted by Clay and Paper Theatre and broadcast over Zoom and Facebook Live.
