Macedonian Village
History:
Macedonian Village was founded around 1945 by Macedonian families who had originally settled in Toronto before discovering greener pastures in Whitby. In information gleaned from the Whitby Historical Society it seems the first homes in the community where quite modest and bore little resemblance to the houses of today. Apparently one of the original dwellings was a converted streetcar. Can you imagine that.
Overview:
Macedonian Village is a small rural residential hamlet surrounded by woodlots, valleys, farm fields and watercourses. The Heber Down Conservation Area abuts the easterly boundary of Macedonian Village. Golf enthusiasts will delight in the many golf courses nearby. Philips-Kozaroff Park is a small park located in the interior of the neighbourhood.
Homes:
Macedonian Village includes a handful of residential streets that contain everything from small bungalows to sprawling ranch style bungalows to luxurious custom estate homes.
