Blackstock
History:
Blackstock was originally called Williamsburg. The name was changed in the late 1800s when the local post office was opened. The name Blackstock was chosen by the community in honour of George Tate Blackstock a respected local politician and lawyer. Blackstock was originally part of Cartwright Township which amalgamated with Durham Region in 1974.
