Clover Ridge
History:
Located at the south end of Ajax near Lake Ontario this area was prime farm land in the 1800s and early 1900s.The cool lake breezes were not ideal for sustained agricultural farming so livestock farming was more prevalent in this part of the township. The Clover Ridge neighbourhood, developed in the 1960s was one of the first planned subdivisions in Ajax.
Overview:
Clover Ridge is a popular choice for entry-level homebuyers who want to live within close proximity of the Ajax waterfront and downtown core. This neighbourhood is situated south of Dreyer Drive and includes pockets on both the east and west side of Harwood Avenue. The west section has a wide selection of starter homes on smaller lots as compared to the sprawling raised bungalows and split-level houses east of Harwood Avenue. Clover Ridge is popular with families as it has both a public and a catholic school. Kinsman Park is a cherished neighbourhood destination. Clover Ridge streetscapes are hilly as its name implies. The streets are well treed with nice green lawns and the houses are well set back from the road.
