Hi! I’m Vic (he/him) and welcome to my shop, located in the beautiful city of Burlington! Thank you for taking the time to check out my business listing. It’s great to connect with fellow woodworkers of all skill levels, abilities, and experience. My mission is to help make woodworking an inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable thing. My view is that there’s room for everything and everyone, hand tools, power machines, or both. So whether this is a hobby, or something you do to earn a living, working wood is fun and rewarding.
I began my career in woodworking after serving 14 years in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. After my honourable discharge, I went on to study furniture design and making at Rosewood Studio under the guidance of some of North America’s top furniture makers. I’ve had the pleasure of holding various woodworking-related positions over the years. Following my job as editor for Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement Magazine, I became the Woodworking Advisor at Lee Valley Tools, where I helped to develop tools and traveled around the globe to teach and present at various woodworking events. Now, my main gig is my business Vic Tesolin Woodworks and contract work for international woodworking companies.
All of my travel and in-person woodworking events stopped due to the covid pandemic. As we all adapted to this change, I found a way to take my woodworking to the online world! I offer virtual group webinars and one-on-one private teaching, and it’s been a blast! People really enjoy being able to learn woodworking from the comfort of their own home/shop. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me designing and making furniture, writing articles for various magazines including Fine Woodworking, Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement, and Australian Wood Review, and writing regular blogs for Fine Woodworking Magazine and KJP Select Hardwoods. I have also authored two books: The Minimalist Woodworker and Projects from the Minimalist Woodworker.
Whether you’re looking to commission a piece of furniture, interested in private instruction, wondering about webinars, or just have a comment and/or question, please feel welcome to contact VTW. You can email directly to victesolinwoodworks@gmail.com, complete the contact form on my website, or reach out on Instagram. We do our very best to respond to you within 1-2 business days.
Happy Woodworking!
